By creating an account or using OtterTile (“the Service”), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
OtterTile is a software-as-a-service productivity platform operated by Ken Liang, located at 930 Roosevelt, Irvine, CA 92620. OtterTile enables users to organize tasks, manage schedules, set alarms, and receive reminder notifications via email, SMS, WhatsApp, and push notifications. The Service is provided on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use. OtterTile is not liable for any loss resulting from unauthorized access to your account.
OtterTile can deliver account notifications — specifically the alarms, task reminders, and account alerts you configure — via email, SMS, WhatsApp, or Pushover. Your tile content, tasks, and alarm data are stored securely. Alarm and task content is private to your account and is never shared or read by anyone. Notification delivery depends on your carrier and the third-party delivery provider (Twilio, Mailgun, or Pushover).
SMS and WhatsApp notifications are strictly opt-in. To receive SMS messages from OtterTile, you must complete all of the following steps while logged in to your account:
No SMS or WhatsApp messages will be sent before you complete all of these opt-in steps.

This checkbox is unchecked by default. The Save Settings button will reject the save with an error message if the box is not checked and an SMS channel is selected.
Immediately after you first opt in, OtterTile sends a confirmation SMS to your phone number:
OtterTile: You have opted in to receive SMS notifications for your OtterTile alarms and reminders. Msg frequency varies. Msg&data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel.
Message frequency. Message frequency varies based on the alarms, timers, and reminders you create. You control how many messages you receive by adjusting your alarms and reminder preferences at any time.
Rates. OtterTile does not charge you for messages. However, standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply.
Opt-out & help. You may opt out of SMS at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from OtterTile, or by removing your phone number from Settings, or by switching your notification channel to Email. Reply HELP to any message for help, or contact us at staff@ottertile.com. We honor STOP requests immediately.
Privacy of mobile data. Mobile information (phone numbers and SMS opt-in data) will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other categories of personal data exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. All software, design, branding, and documentation comprising the Service are the exclusive property of OtterTile and are protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws. You retain full ownership of any content you create within the Service, including tiles, tasks, notes, and alarm configurations.
The Service is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. OtterTile makes no guarantees regarding uptime, reliability, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that notifications will be delivered without delay or interruption, as delivery depends on third-party carriers and messaging providers.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, OtterTile and its officers, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, missed notifications, service interruptions, or lost profits, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Service.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or is harmful to the Service, other users, or third parties. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to access the Service ceases immediately.
OtterTile may revise these Terms at any time by posting the updated version with a new “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after any such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Orange County, California.
